May 16, 2002 This letter is from Nick, appointed by God to be a disciple of Christ Jesus. I am writing to God's church in Frederick and Rockville and to all the Christians throughout Maryland. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you his grace and peace. I wanted to inform all of you of what has been happening lately. Summer is about to arrive in Texas, the temperature is rising to 95 degrees. Spring classes have come to a close because the campus will be invaded by thousands of boys and girls being prepared for the mission field to go and reach the lost in dozens of different countries—PRAISE THE LORD! As well as with Extreme Camps in which I will be a counselor. God has blessed me so much lately; I cannot thank Him enough for His kindness to me. I have been assigned to be an ACA. To let you know what an ACA is it is a room leader, they help facilitate an environment for spiritual, physical, emotional, professional and educational growth and development. They lead the room in weekly room meetings, on a topic of their choice. They are there to comfort them in times of trouble, rejoice in times of joy, and be one that they can look up to for advice and encouragement. God has blessed me indeed. Today in my quiet time I finished the book of 2 Corinthians, so I am only a few weeks away from reading through the whole bible from front to back. After I finish that I will begin an intense study of the New Testament. Tomorrow begins the “Unreached People Groups Retreat”. This is a retreat where the internship goes and breaks up into groups that either pretend to be tribes or pretend to be missionaries. The tribes are in a closed country and we have face paint, we make up our own language and we have weapons and all sorts of tribal gear. Then the missionaries have to come and try to get us saved. I am in a tribe and I am actually the leader of this one, so it will be interesting. I will look forward to telling you about this retreat in my next update. I had the opportunity last weekend to go to the Acquire The Fire in Austin, TX. I had a BLAST! It was so fun, I got to help set up and tear down and meet a whole lot of people on the Ministry Team (These are the people that do all of the ATF’s around the nation). I got to run spot light from a canopy hanging above the stage it was very fun, and very hot all the way up there, luckily I got a hold of a fan and that helped a lot. God was awesome and I got to witness many salvations I hope that you had the opportunity to see the one in Baltimore, if not I would highly recommend going to it and taking many young people to it next year. To inform all of you I will be coming back for a little more then a week in June. I am arriving June 14 late at night and will be leaving June 22: Saturday, June 15: I will be at El Shaddi. Sunday, June 16:I will be at Rockville Church of God of Prophecy. I will also be attending El Shaddi’s Camp in Westminster for 1, maybe 2 days throughout the week. Here Are My Prayer Requests: --That God would give me direction on what to do next year. --That I would have wisdom to lead my room and those whom I will be counseling during camps. --And last but not least, that I would have anything that is not of God ripped out of my life. Thank you all so much, I pray you guys. My god bless you and keep you, may his face shine upon you and give you peace. Sincerely, Nick |
